Is She or Isn’t She? That’s the October question… Whether Bonnie is pregnant or not, Mr. Bluejeans and I decided it was time for a remodel on the donkey shed.
September has come and gone and I am left still (slightly) wondering if Bonnie is indeed with burrito (pregnant) or if she’s just a saucer shaped donkey. Her past owner told us that he thought she was impregnated by Clyde and she’d be due this September.
She certainly LOOKS the part and we are all hoping it’s true. We’ve even picked a name! But the wait continues. In preparation for the possible little one, Mr. Bluejeans and I needed to partition off a section of the corral and do a bit of a shed remodel. I have concerns about Clyde’s possible negative reaction to a little one running about. Clyde is definitely an alpha male and we want to do all we can to be sure there are no problems.
Mr. Bluejeans figured out how we could, with items we already had lying about, create a secure area for Bonnie to give birth in. Even if there’s no baby coming, I do want a separate place that I can bring one of them into for health care or a good grooming.
We used a tubular gate that we had purchased for another project which never happened. Taking left over wood from various projects gave us the side wall and shed partitions.
The shed still needs the exterior tin put on (in place of the plywood walls and roof) and the concrete floor poured. Thick rubber mats will go on top of the concrete. I’ve got to do something with the flooring because Clyde’s favorite place ever to relieve himself is IN their shed. Sigh.
So the Burrows family remodel is almost complete, just a few more touches to their shed and then voilà, a home fit for, perhaps, three. You be the judge. Check out these other photos and let me know if you think she is with baby or not:
She sure has that shape, doesn’t she? Is the any change in her teats? Keeping my fingers crossed that she is, indeed, preggers. 😊🤞
I agree with Cindy.
No change. I’ve been watching but haven’t seen any changes. So frustrating!
