First full year on the farm and I’ve learned a lot. Homesteading is teaching me about more than seeds, more than feeding livestock, more than being ok with longs days and nights.

It’s teaching me that I can do it… as long as I…
keep at it, don’t give up and try try again…
I can do it!
However, the other thing it’s teaching me is: I can do it… in time. Slow your roll. That’s been a tough one for me but learn I will!
What’s the biggest homesteading thing you’ve learned so far?

Oh my goodness, I so needed to hear this! Wish I had heard it five years ago., lol. One thing I am (finally) coming to realize is I either seriously overestimate our abilities or seriously underestimate the time a task will take. ;). Case in point: Tom thought we could convert the stall into a coop in a day or so. Five days later it was done. There is one thing that homesteading will teach: PATIENCE! And yes, I’m still working on that one, too, so you are in good company!
LOL! It may be “homesteader-idis” but perhaps if we didn’t think we had super powers, we won’t be doing this LOL! We can do it!!
