When you think about it life really is just a bunch of snippets. Bits of this and that all folded together to create your day. Life here on the farm is like that. I call it our Patchwork life. We wouldn’t have it any other way .
Now that Fall is here it’s time to transition the garden. Soon you’ll be seeing garlic and onions (two of our favorites here on the farm).

This is the first year I’m trying to grow a Fall garden. The usual suspects will be planted:
- Curly Kale
- Broccoli (riding on my spring success)
- Cabbage (another first year success)
- Never left the garden since Spring Swiss Chard
- Cauliflower
- Garlic
- Onions

The last two are being planted for next Spring. Fortunately we still have garlic left from this years harvest and in time I hope to double the amount planted so I can dry, pickle, ferment and do whatever else can be done to garlic!
See our patchwork life, how everyday has something new in store and what’s going on in the garden here:
Want to know how I’ve been able to go from horrible Jurassic Garden to actually growing a harvest? These four books below have been instrumental in getting me from brown thumb to kinda greenish 🙂
How are you transitioning for Fall?
