A flavorful and delicious chicken recipe with a delectable cream sauce that could cause marriage proposals right on the spot! Ok, maybe not, but you will fall in love with it!

What home cook doesn’t want their household to fall in love with their cooking? I know I adore when my family makes comments like: “It’s to die for” or “That’s amazing” so hearing “Oh, this is so good – marry me” from Mr. Bluejeans is a feather in my cap!

Of course they don’t have to know how easy this recipe is to make. No, we will just keep that to ourselves, along with the whole nine minutes this takes to cook in the Instant Pot. Nope, that’s just our little secret.
Moist and delicious with plenty of gravy to share, this recipe is great for sauce lovers or should I say: saucy lovers?

Add olive oil to Instant Pot and push Sauté button. Add chicken and sauté until you see a bit of golden brown on your chicken (about 2 minutes per side). Sauté both sides.
-
Remove chicken and set aside.
-
Sauté garlic for about 30 seconds.

Add broth, garlic powder, salt, pepper, sun-dried tomatoes, pepper flakes, italian seasonings, worcestershire sauce, old bay seasoning and stir. This is also the time to add the optional vermouth or white wine. Shut off sauté.
-
Nestle sautéd chicken back into pot.
-
Cover the Instant Pot and secure. Make sure valve is set to SEAL.
-
Set IP to High Pressure Cook 9 minutes. When timer is up Natural Release for 10 minutes.

Open lid and remove chicken. Set IP to Sauté.
-
Pour in cream. Whisk in flour. Be sure to remove all lumps. Bring to a simmer.

-
Sprinkle fresh basil on top if you like!

What’s your favorite chicken dish to make…besides this one LOL

Pin Me!

Why do you have me adding broth twice ?
Well I’ve looked around and tried to blame the dog, but she doesn’t have thumbs so typing isn’t her thing. So I guess it was me… totally goofed and typed an instruction twice. Great catch and I have gone in and fixed the mistake. Still not sure it wasn’t the dog (she’s pretty intelligent) but glad to have that error all cleaned up. Thanks for letting me know!!
Is there anything I can substitute for the cream or half and half?
Absolutely! You can use milk. Whole, 2%, non fat. Your choice! It won’t have the same mouth feel but you will avoid extra calories. If there are milk allergies, substitute chicken broth for the milk. Hope you like the recipe!
You list old bay seasoning and Worcestershire sauce as ingredients but don’t say when to add them in the directions…
Thank you for catching that error! I have corrected the recipe. You would add at step #4 with all the other ingredients. I hope you have a chance to try Marry Me Chicken! Thank you for stopping by the blog.
