So you want to start a garden? Exactly where does one begin? I thought the same thing. Got lost for a while too! But with a few good books (and a great group of supporting and knowledgeable friends) you CAN do this! So, let’s start a garden!
If there is one place where I lack confidence, it’s in the garden. Not my jam. But if we want fresh veggies (we do) then it’s time to get on with it. Time to dig in… so to speak!
We must cultivate our own garden. When man was put in the garden of Eden he was put there so that he should work, which proves that man was not born to rest.
~ Voltaire

Well Voltaire, you’re not kidding about the no rest part! Gardening definitely takes effort. From planning the seeds to be started to plotting out where everything will go, hours and hours can be poured into this endeavor. Especially if your new to gardening like I am.
However, since changing my mind from “I’m not getting this” to “This can be done” , I’m finding this an enjoyable challenge more and dreading it less! Which has made traveling down the garden path a bit easier.

This is just the very beginning for us. There’s a LOT to learn but I truly feel that you just have to dig in and get started. Believe me, I waffled and backpedaled for years but this year was different. Change your mind, just go for it. Oh, it doesn’t hurt to have a top notch squad of gardening superheros to help you along either so why not join the 5 Dog Farm Facebook Group and get some cheerleaders in your garden corner!
How long have you been gardening?
