Winter moving is highly underrated
moving: adjective (moo-ving)
- involved in changing the location of possessions, a residence, office etc…
- involving a motor vehicle in motion
- my personal hell
Really. Who enjoys moving? Having to sort and shuffle through all your personal items. Major decisions like: do I keep this half eaten jar of peanut butter or toss it? How many cute scarves do I really need? Or my favorite, do I really have to do this?
Thoughts of I’d like to toss all this crap and buy everything new at our next location loom large in my mind.
Even the pronunciation of moving sounds like a cattle call: moooooooo-ving. Load ’em up boys. Yes, you are reading me loud and clear. I Hate. Moving.
It’s not that we are new to this. Oh no, we are old hands. Here’s how JD and I go about it (true story):
Typically we choose the worst part of the year – say, the hottest most humid day in August to move from the West to the South. Or perhaps move back across the nation to a desert state, make many wardrobe purchases to stay cool in new hot as hell warmer location only to move across the nation, again, to the frigid Midwest winters. Then, make many wardrobe purchases to stay warm in new location. I think we are gonna need a moving truck just for our wardrobe! Stay tuned…more 4 letter words to come!
