Have you ever wanted something so badly and then finally when you got it.. it was, well sort of no big deal? WELL, that’s NOT what has happened here my friends! Wishin’ and hopin’ and thinkin’ and prayin’, plannin’ and dreamin’ well… it’s like Hal David and Burt Bacharach were in our heads! Our 14 year odyssey of finding land to homestead on AND building our post and beam farmhouse has finally come to life!

I’m talking about only the EXTERIOR of our farmhouse being finished, but those are merely details. We all know a house is not a home until the inside is done but how fun it’s going to be to imagine and create the interior!

As the build was taking place, I decided it would be interesting to set up some time lapse photography to capture the “moment”. I was unable to film everyday because the only time lapse “camera” I had was my iPhone and there were times I actually left the farm. Probably to buy a Burt Bacharach cd.
It all still seems a bit surreal. Seeing the farmhouse there on the hill.
I’ve begun to stain the interior wood that will be exposed. We hope to have the interior walls framed by the beginning of summer. Then continue on with flooring, which we found a great deal on and purchased in 2018. There’s so much more to do but right now all Mr. Bluejeans and I want to do is focus on this magic moment and stare at our place with the look of love in our eyes.
Ok, ok enough of that Burt… let’s just get to the good stuff. Here’s the build:
