Here's a fast and easy way to make dog treats when you just don't have much time!
Cut meat to the bite sizes you want to feed your pet.
Place in dehydrator. I bought a 1 pound package of beef and used 4 dehydrator trays.
Run per your dehydrators instructions. I ran mine for 6 hours. The model I used was not equipped with a temperature adjustment.
Set at your ovens lowest temperature and dry for 4 to 8 hours. Keep checking it to be sure it's not over drying. The jerky should be slighltly bendable but not brittle.
If you want to save a few bucks, by unsliced meat then pop into the freezer for a hour or so. Just until it's a bit frozen but it still has some give when you push on it with your finger. Then take it out of the freezer and slice. The bit of freezing makes thinly slicing it much easier!
